Custodian - Village of Saukville The Village of Saukville is accepting applications for a Part-time Public Works Custodian position. Base schedule will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Position requires flexible work hours to meet the operational needs of the organization. Weekly hours will not exceed 12 hours. Starting wage is $10.43 per hour. Because this position will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the Police facility, applicants will be subject to extensive background and criminal history checks. A pre-employment interview, drug screen and physical will also be done. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. Eagle Project Thank YouEarlier this summer, Alexander Wischki of Saukville Boy Scout Troop 868 built a beautiful flower planter around the Union Cemetery sign as part of his Eagle Scout requirements. The planter is dedicated to honor our veterans. The Village would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to Alex along with all those who helped make his project a reality, for providing the Union Cemetery with a beautiful, welcoming entrance.

You do not need a permit to place rummage sale signs, but please follow the requirements of Village Ordinance - sec. 205.79E regarding placement and duration of signage. Signs must comply with traffic visibility requirements and are not permitted in Village parks, properties, or median areas. Improperly placed signs will be confiscated. Do not place signs sooner than 24 hours before your sale and remove within 24 hours after sale.
Branch Chipping vs Tree Removal The Village provides curbside branch chipping only for branches resulting from tree trimming or tree maintenance. Property owners are responsible for removal and disposal of all parts of a tree removal, including the branches, per Village Ordinance 187-21. The Village chipper will not collect/chip branches left curbside from an owner removed tree.
Grass Clippings & Yard DebrisA reminder to all property owners: The Village does NOT collect yard debris curbside. You must containerize plant debris and grass clippings and bring to the Compost Drop-off Site at the DPW yard. When cutting your lawn, depositing or blowing grass clippings into the street is prohibited, per Village Ordinance 140-10 and a fine will be imposed. Depositing grass clippings in to the street can lead to storm sewer blockage. Please help prevent plugged storm sewers by making sure catch basins near your property are clear of debris.
Pet LicensingAll Village residents owning a dog or cat that is older than six months are required by Village Ordinance 61-8, to purchase a pet license. 2019 licenses can be purchased at Village Hall. Proof of current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate) is required for new pets and when updated rabies shots are required. A late penalty is imposed for renewal pet license processing after March 31st. Fees - Dog License: $8 Altered; $10 Non-altered ($5 late fee) Fees - Cat License: $5 Altered; $7 Non-altered ($3 late fee)

Team Meeting -- Wed., Aug., 14th -- 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. NSeven Coffee Co., 1307 Wisconsin Ave., GraftonThe Community Rivers Program (CRP) is inviting residents from Saukville to come to the first CRP C.L.E.A.N. Team Meeting. The CLEAN Team, Community Led Ecosystem Advisory Network, will work with the Community Rivers Program to develop programming for the Village of Saukville. The goal of the Community Rivers Program is to provide opportunities for people to engage with and learn about the Milwaukee River, from free kayaking trips to family fishing clinics, CRP tries to connect people with the river. The Community Rivers Program wants to better incorporate the voices of our community members. If you have any ideas or interests relating to the Milwaukee River or the outdoors in general please come by for our first meeting. Email questions to mzopp@riveredge.us Saukville Residents - Family Fishing Event -- Thur., Aug. 15th -- 4:00 - 7:00 PMSpend the afternoon on the banks of the Milwaukee River at Ehlers County Park with a pole in your hand and hopefully a few bites on your line! We will be located in the north parking lot at County W and Mink Ranch Rd. Learn how to tie a hook on your line, bait your hook, and safely cast your line into the water. With the assistance of our CRP Outreach Coordinators we will try to catch and identify each fish before releasing them back into their home, the Milwaukee River. Bait and poles are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, or feel free to bring your own. Children ages 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This program is intended and free for Saukville residents!
