Curbside Christmas Tree Chipping

This year there is an infection from imported trees and wreaths from North Carolina.  These products were sold at major retailers such as Home Depot, Steins, Costco, and others.  If you purchased a tree  or wreath from any of these  retailers, please do not  put them out for curbside chipping.  Instead, you can do one of the following:  
1.  Bag them and put them in the trash for regular pick-up.  Trees must fully fit in the trash cart so may need to be cut into pieces and bagged.   Advanced Disposal will NOT pick up full trees or trees left outside of the cart.
2.  Burn them in approved containers/pits if you have an authorized burn permit.  Burn permits can be obtained at Village Hall.

Please Note:  The insects involved in the infestation will survive the winter and can infect surrounding pine trees if infected mulch/chippings are spread in the future.  DPW staff will look for signs of infestation on trees put out for chipping.  If signs are found, the tree will not be chipped.  It will be tagged with a notice from DPW and you will need to dispose of it on your own - preferably in one of the above manners.

Curbside Christmas Tree Chipping - UPDATED CHIPPING DATES: 
Mondays - Jan. 14^th & Jan. 21^st.

Christmas trees will be chipped curbside by the DPW on Mondays, Jan. 14^th  & 21^st.    The following rules apply: 
· Remove all decorations, wire, tinsel, hardware, lights, and stands from tree - No cloth, paper, or plastic cover bags. 
· Place trees curbside no sooner than 24 hours prior to the day of chipping and no later than 6:30 a.m. that day. 
· In the event of a snowfall, please clear the tree of snow.
· Disposal of trees prior to or after the scheduled dates will be the homeowner’s responsibility.  Do not put trees out for regular trash pick-up.  Advanced Disposal will not collect Christmas trees.
 

Overnight Parking Restrictions - In Effect Through March 31, 2019

Per Village Ordinance #192.7D - No person shall park any vehicle for more than 30 minutes on any street in the Village between 2:00 and 7:00 a.m. through March 31st.  No person shall park any vehicle for more than 30 minutes on any municipal parking lot of the Village between 2:00 and 7:00 a.m.
Physicians on emergency calls and persons having special written permission from the Police Dept. are exempt from the terms of this section.

Snow Removal

Per Village Ordinance # 173.5 - The owner or occupant of any building or lot fronting or adjoining any street shall clear the public sidewalk from snow and/or ice within 24 hours of a snow event.  Deposit on public ways is prohibited. 
 

2019 Pet Licensing

All Village residents owning a dog or cat that is older than six months are required by Village Ordinance, section 61-8, to purchase a pet license.  2019 licenses can be purchased at Village Hall.  Proof of current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate) is required for new pets and when updated rabies shots are required.  A late penalty will be imposed for  pet license processing after March 31, 2019.
Fees - Dog License:  $8 Altered; $10 Non-altered  ($5 late fee)
Fees - Cat License:   $5 Altered;   $7 Non-altered  ($3 late fee)

2018 Property Tax - Payment Info

The full amount, or the first installment, of your 2018 property tax bill is due and payable to the Village of Saukville Treasurer by January 31, 2019 to avoid any penalties.
 
Second installment payments are due and payable to the Ozaukee County Treasurer by July 31, 2019. 

Personal property taxes and special assessments included on a property tax bill are due to the Village Treasurer by January 31, 2019 and may not be paid in installments.
 
Where/How To Pay: 
Village Hall -  Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
 
U.S. Mail - Payments postmarked on or before the due date will be considered paid as of that day.  Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment if you would like a receipt mailed back to you.

Bring your tax bill to process payment.  Refunds can be processed immediately.

 
Automatic Checking or Credit Card:
ACH and credit card payments are accepted through the Official Payments link on our website.  There is a convenience fee of $2.75 (transactions less than $10,000) or $15.00 (transactions $10,000 or greater) for using an ACH direct pay checking account.  Credit card payment charge is 2.75% of the total tax payment.  If you are interested in these payment options, please go to our website at www.village.saukville.wi.us, click on “Tax Information” and click on the Official Payments website link.  Please have your tax bill ready with bill number or parcel number.
