As part of the Community Rivers Program, Saukville & Newburg residents are invited to join us in combating an invasive species while enjoying a community picnic at Riveredge Nature Center.  We’ll head to the River to catch Rusty Crayfish, an invasive to our local waters, and boil them up to serve along side other pot-luck items from local residents.  No charge to join to fun, just bring a little something to pass and please RSVP to help us plan ahead!

Emergency Alert System Test

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system on September 20, 2018. 
The test messages will be sent using FEMA’s IPAWS, (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) which enables authorities to send emergency messages to multiple communications networks, including the EAS and WEA as part of the nation’s modern alert and warning infrastructure.
Sending the WEA test message will begin at 2:18 p.m. EDT. The EAS message will be sent at 2:20 p.m. EDT.  This will be the first nationwide Presidential-level WEA test and cannot be opted out.

Curbside Leaf Collection begins Oct. 1st - runs through Dec. 3rd.

 - Weather Permitting - No guaranteed or scheduled pick-up.
 - Leaf piles must be curbside with no brush or plant materials.
 - Keep vehicles off and away from leaf piles.
 - Keep piles at a manageable height for the vacuum truck to collect easily.

Lawn Maintenance

Chapter 151  of the Municipal Code provides for standards of property maintenance which prohibits unsightly growth and foliage of any nature.  Routine maintenance of lawns, yards, and property foliage is the responsibility of every property owner.  Please help keep Saukville beautiful; cut your lawns and maintain all property foliage on a regular basis.

Flood Damage Reporting

Due to the severe weather events starting on August 27^th that impacted our area, the Ozaukee County Division of Emergency Management is working with Impact 211 for County residents and businesses to call to report damages.   Click Here for info on how to report your damage.  Anyone with property damage is encouraged to report.

I-43 Rehabilitation Project

The Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Region announces I-43 Rehabilitation Project lane closures and restrictions  in Ozaukee County. Drivers should be aware of reduced speed limits and remember to use caution while traveling through any work zone. This advisory does not include closures by local authorities for accidents or unusual incidents (such as weather).

Tadych Scholarship

The Marilyn and Paul Tadych Memorial Scholarship, established by the Tadychs to provide scholarships for parents of students in the Port Washington-Saukville School District, needs applicants to take advantage of this wonderful program.
Marilyn and Paul Tadych touched the lives of many children, Marilyn as an elementary school librarian, and Paul as an elementary school art teacher.  They believed strongly in the benefits of learning for individuals of all ages and they wished to leave the legacy of higher education to the parents and legal guardians of Port Washington-Saukville District students.
