Turtle Release TODAY!!!

It’s that time of year!  Baby turtles are hatching along the river and sometimes they need our help.  A local resident from Saukville found Spiny Softshell Turtle eggs in her yard and noticed they were threatened by kids playing nearby and bird predation. She incubated and successfully hatched the eggs and the hatchlings are ready to be released back into the Milwaukee River!
In the spirit of the Community Rivers Program, all Saukville residents are welcome to help us release almost 30 of these turtles back to their home TODAY, Tuesday August 14th at 5:00pm at Peninsula Park!  There is no cost to help us with this release and you do not need to preregister.  Just join us at the park excited to let these beautiful creatures go back to their native river.
Sponsored by Riveredge Nature Center.
