Raking Leaves

Leaf Collection

Fall curbside leaf sweeping begins the first week of October and runs through November, weekdays only. Leaf collection is not guaranteed - it will be done as time and weather permit.

If you notice a storm drain is covered or clogged by leaves and debris, please help to prevent any water ponding or flooding by removing the debris from the drain area.

Hydrant Flushing

Fire Hydrant Flushing

The Water Department will be flushing hydrants throughout the Village between 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. October 23 - October 26 & October 30 - November 2, 2023. There may be some discoloration in your water during this process. This is iron and is not harmful. We recommend that you do not do laundry if your water is discolored. Running your faucets for a short period of time after flushing is completed in your area should clear the lines. You may want to bottle some water for drinking, cooking, etc. prior to the flushing event.

FAMILY EVENT

Solar Eclipse Saturday

OCTOBER 14 (drop in between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm)

We invite all ages to join us on the library lawn to witness a partial solar eclipse. As you observe the sun gradually darken, the moon will slowly  pass between the Sun and Earth. In addition to experiencing this celestial event, you are also welcome to engage in self-led S.T.E.A.M. projects.

Because the Sun never goes dark, you will need special protective glasses or filters throughout the eclipse.

The library will provide solar viewing glasses free at the event.
