Children along with their families are welcome to join us Tuesday on our front lawn with a stuffed animal for a very special outdoor story time. Feel free to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. Afterward, the child’s stuffed friend will stay for a sleepover at the Library. Come back Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. to pick up your plushie and watch a slideshow of all the fun they had!

The stuffed animals will be spending the night, so please don't bring a stuffed animal a child may need to get to sleep. Registration is not required for this event. One stuffed animal per child, please. In case of rain, the drop-off event will be brought indoors.

Book Discussion: Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian

Tuesday, July 18 (6:30 pm)

It is the dawn of the nineteenth century: Britain is at war with Napoleon’s France. British naval officer Jack Aubrey is elated to be given his first appointment as commander: the fourteen-gun-ship H.M.S. Sophie.  Aubrey engages a down-on-his-luck physician, Stephen Maturin, to join his crew as the Sophie’s surgeon. This begins a legendary friendship that anchors this beloved saga set against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars.

Reserved copies of Master and Commander by Patrick O’Brian are available for checkout at Oscar Grady Library or by reserve using the Monarch Catalog: www.monarchcatalog.org.

All are welcome.
