Red fire hydrant with water flowing out

Hydrant Flushing

The Water Department will be flushing hydrants throughout the Village  Monday - Thursday, Oct. 18th - Oct. 21st between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Due to the Colonial Pkwy road construction, flushing will resume Oct. 21st - Oct. 25th.

There may be some discoloration in your water during this process.  This is iron and is not harmful.  We recommend that you do not do laundry if your water is discolored.  Running your faucets for a short period of time after flushing is completed in your area should clear the lines.  You may want to bottle some water for drinking, cooking, etc. prior to the flushing dates.

Road Construction Projects

STH 33 - East of Milwaukee River Bridge

Beginning Monday, Oct. 25th, the Ozaukee County Highway Dept. will be milling and paving STH 33 from the  Milwaukee River bridge east to the small bridge by the Port Washington State Bank.
Travel lanes will be open for both eastbound and westbound traffic.  Prepare for traffic delays.  The  project should be completed by the end of the week.

Colonial Pkwy Reconstruction Project

The project includes the pulverization and repaving of the roadway, spot replacement of curb & gutter, driveway approaches and sidewalks, new ADA ramps at the intersections, and replacing existing storm sewer and inlets.  The anticipated start date for pavement pulverization is Tuesday, October 26th.  This work is weather dependent and subject to change.  While asphalt is being pulverized and before it is rolled and compacted, it is best to stay off the roadway.  Once the pulverized asphalt is compacted, the roadway will be drivable.  Please drive slowly through this area.  Paving is scheduled to begin later that week.  The paving schedule is largely dependent upon the condition of the road base and weather. Signage is placed to limit traffic to local residents only.  The roadway will remain drivable.
