Snow Removal Reminders
It is the responsibility of an owner or occupant of a property to remove snow and/or ice from public sidewalks, and shall cause the same to be kept clear, within 24 hours of a snow/ice event. Please do NOT blow, plow, or shovel snow into the streets. This creates a hazardous condition for motorists and requires unnecessary return trips by the snowplow. In addition, State Statutes and Village Ordinance prohibits this action and doing so may result in a fine. Adopt a Hydrant
Fire hydrants are often overlooked as requiring clearing of snow and ice. Hydrants protect your property. Keeping them accessible will result in saving precious time crucial to firefighters responding to an incident. After extreme snowfalls, you can help by clearing a hydrant near your home when you clear your driveway and sidewalk. Thank you for helping to keep your neighborhood fire safe.
