2020 Property Taxes

2020 Property Tax payments (full or first installment) are due by January 31, 2021.  Please read your bill carefully for payment instruction.


WHERE & WHEN YOU CAN PAY YOUR TAXES:
Village Hall:  Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.   
Village Hall will  be CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY:
     - Closed at Noon -  Dec. 31, 2020
     - All Day - Jan.1, 2021
No Cash Payments Please.  Cash payments should be paid at PWSB or BMO Harris Bank - Saukville Branches (inside lobby payment required).

U.S. MAIL
Payments postmarked on or before the due date will be considered paid as of the postmarked date.  Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment if you would like a receipt.

SAUKVILLE BANK BRANCHES:  Must pay inside - not at drive-through tellers.  Bring your tax bill to process payment.  Refunds can be processed immediately.  
  • PORT WASHINGTON STATE BANK  (Open December 31st until 3:00 p.m.)
  • BMO HARRIS BANK  (Open December 31st  until 3:00 p.m.) 
ONLINE PAYMENTS
Online payments are accepted through the AllPaid-GovPayNet secure link on our website.  Credit and debit card payments will be assesses a service fee of 2.65% of the total tax payment.  See the Tax Information page on the Village website for payment information.

New Utility Bill Format for 2021

Watch for a New Utility Billing format in January 2021.
The old green postcard bill is out!  The utility bill will now be sent in a regular size envelope stamped “Utility Bill Enclosed”.  Itemized fixed charges and usage readings will be stated separately along with the total amount due and due dates.  The January 2021 bill will reflect the 4th quarter 2020 usage and fees. 

Water/Sewer Rate Increase

The PSC approved a rate case application from the Village of Saukville to increase water rates by 3%, effective November 2, 2020.  The 4th quarter utility billing will reflect a prorated water service increase for the billing period October 1 thru December 31, 2020.  Sewer fixed and usage rates will increase by 10% effective January 1, 2021.

Winter Parking Restrictions

Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect December 1, 2020 through March 31, 2021.
Municipal Code Sec. 192.7D:  No person shall park any vehicle for more than 30 minutes on any street in the Village between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., except for the period beginning April 1 and ending December 1. Physicians on emergency calls and persons having special written permission from the Police Department are exempted from the terms of this section.


Utility & Tax Payments

- Village Hall no longer accepts $100 bills or cash payments over $500 for Water/Sewer bill or property tax payments.  Exact payment required (no change made).  
- Property Tax cash payments over $500 must be paid at Port Washington State Bank.


Snow Removal Reminders

It is the responsibility of an owner or occupant of a property to remove snow and/or ice  from public sidewalks, and shall cause the same to be kept clear, within 24 hours of a snow/ice event.  Click Here to see other Village requirements and helpful hints when removing snow from your driveways and sidewalks.


Unclaimed/Abandoned Property 

Public Notice dated Oct. 12, 2020:  Pursuant to WI State Statute #170.105 the Saukville Police Department is giving notice of unclaimed/abandoned property.  If the unclaimed/abandoned items are not claimed within 90 days, they will be disposed of according to Saukville Police Dept. policy.  The unclaimed/abandoned property includes miscellaneous bikes.  Contact the Saukville P.D. at 262-284-0444 with questions.

2021 Pet Licenses

All Village of Saukville residents owning a cat or dog that is older than six months are required by Village Ordinance to purchase a pet license.  2021 licenses can be purchased at Village Hall.  Proof of current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate) is required.  A late penalty will be imposed for renewal pet license processing after March 31, 2021.

Dog License fees:  
$8.00 spayed/neutered;  $10.00  not spayed/neutered
$5.00 late penalty after March 31st.
 
Cat License fees:
$5.00 spayed/neutered;  $7.00  not spayed/neutered
$3.00 late penalty after March 31st.

COVID-19 Info Update 

Nov. 20, 2020, Gov. Tony Evers declared a new COVID-19 public health emergency in Wisconsin as Wisconsin’s hospitals are operating at or very near full capacity and healthcare providers are struggling to keep up with the demand for care.  Read the full press release here.

Executive Order #95 proclaiming a public health emergency is available here. 
Emergency Order #1 extending the face covering requirement is available here. 
Both orders are effective immediately and will expire after 60 days or with a subsequent superseding order.

As the Public Health Emergency progresses, the Village of Saukville will continue to refer to the Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department guidelines and their "Blueprint for Reopening FAQs"  and make adjustments as needed.

  • The front lobby of Village Hall is open.  Ring bell at lobby window for service.
  • All Village Facilities follow the State of Wisconsin and Washington Ozaukee Public Health Department requirements and recommendations related to COVID-19 regarding physical distancing and face coverings.
  • Call in, Online, and Email services are encouraged.
  • Payments and Other Correspondence can be sealed in an envelope and placed in the outside drop box at Village Hall (no cash please) or mailed to Village Hall. The drop box is checked daily.  Utility bill payment options include: include bottom payment stub and check in a sealed envelope in the outside drop box, pay online, or mail payment stub and check via US Postal Service.  See Utility Bill Payment & Rate Information.

Part-time On-Call and Volunteer opportunities are available through the Village of Saukville Fire Dept. and Police Dept.  Please contact the respective department for complete info.


Fire Department
Part-time, paid, on-call positions are available for Fire-Fighters and EMTS.  Applications are available at Village Hall and on the Village website.  For more information, call the Fire Dept. at 262-284-5800 and leave a message.

Police Department
The Saukville Police Dept. is seeking dedicated, community minded individuals to become part of our volunteer Police Reserves team.  For more info, call the Police Dept. at 262-284-0444.
