Community Rivers Program:  Living on the Riverbank - Property Owner Rights

Do you live along the Milwaukee River?  Are you a homeowner that is overwhelmed with rules pertaining to your rights as a property owner when it comes to stewarding your riverfront property?  Join the Community Rivers Program for their lecture series at the Oscar Grady Library on Wednesday, March 11th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.  Ozaukee County's Zoning Coordinator, Ed Pfister, will be there discussing what you can and can't do when it comes to shoreline stewardship.  No registration required.

VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVES - BEWARE!

Voter registration drives will increase in 2020.  These organizations are not affiliated with the Village of Saukville and while most organizations are legitimate, this is also an area of opportunity for scammers.  Be aware that voter registration requires personal information such as your date of birth and driver's license number.  Never give personal info to anyone you don't know and trust.  The safest means to register to vote includes the following:

  1. Online at the MyVote Wisconsin:  https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/
  2. By mail (complete the voter registration form).  Mail form with Proof of Residency (copy) to:  Village Clerk, 639 E. Green Bay Ave, Saukville, WI  53080
  3. In-person at your municipal Clerk's Office:  Open M-F, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  4. In-person at your assigned polling location on Election Day, 7 a.m - 8 p.m.

Note: All options require acceptable proof of residency.   Open Registration ends March 18, 2020.  March 19 - April 3, 2020, registration must be done in person at the Municipal Clerk's office.

Cross Connection Inspection Program:

The Village's Cross Connection Inspection Program, managed by HydroCorp, will continue in 2020.  Any parties receiving an Inspection Request Letter should contact HydroCorp, as indicated in the letter, to schedule an appointment.  This action is required by the Wisconsin DNR and the Village of Saukville.

Winter Reminders:

Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect through April 1, 2020.  

Parking for longer than 30 minutes between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on any Village street is prohibited.  Contact the Saukville Police Dept. at 262-284-0444 with questions.


Snow Removal

Per Village Ordinance, snow/ice must be cleared from public sidewalks within 24 hours of a snowfall.  Deposit of snow on public ways, from shoveling or blowing, is prohibited.  Penalties may be assessed for violations.

Pet Licensing

All Village residents owning a dog or cat that is older than six months are required by Village Ordinance 61-8, to purchase a pet license.  2020 licenses can now be purchased at Village Hall.  Proof of current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate) is required for new pets and when updated rabies shots are required.  
A late penalty is imposed for renewal pet license processing after March 31st.
Fees - Dog License:  $8 Altered; $10 Non-altered  ($5 late fee)
Fees - Cat License:   $5 Altered;   $7 Non-altered  ($3 late fee)

Part-time On-Call and Volunteer opportunities are available through the Village of Saukville Fire Dept. and Police Dept.  Please contact the respective department for complete info.


Fire Department
Part-time, paid, on-call positions are available for Fire-Fighters and EMTS.  Applications are available at Village Hall and on the Village website.  For more information, call the Fire Dept. at 262-284-5800 and leave a message.
