January 2020 Service UpdatesChristmas Tree Curbside ChippingMondays - Jan. 13th & Jan. 20th
Trees must be curbside by 6:30 a.m. on the Monday collection date. Please make sure your tree is free of all decorations, lights, tree stands, tree bags, etc. - must be free of all foreign material to be chipped. In the event of a snowfall, please clear tree of snow.
Water Utility Rate Increase
The Village of Saukville implemented a water rate increase that went into effect for the 4th quarter of 2019. The rate change is reflected on the current bill which was mailed out January 3, 2020. For an average water usage of 20,000 gallons per household per quarter, the additional cost is $3.51. The last water rate increase was April 1, 2016. Click Here for current utility rate information.

Treasurer - Village of SaukvilleThe Village is seeking a positive, proactive, energetic, community focused leader to fill the Village Treasurer position. Qualified applicant shall be responsible to perform the statutory duties of the Municipal Treasurer, benefit administration, and utility billing. Prior municipal experience strongly preferred, but not necessary. This position is a full-time management position, with a comprehensive benefit package including Wisconsin Retirement and Wisconsin Health Insurance. Salary is dependent on qualifications.

Winter Reminders:Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect through April 1, 2020. Parking for longer than 30 minutes between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on any Village street is prohibited. Contact the Saukville Police Dept. at 262-284-0444 with questions.

Pet LicensingAll Village residents owning a dog or cat that is older than six months are required by Village Ordinance 61-8, to purchase a pet license. 2020 licenses can now be purchased at Village Hall. Proof of current rabies vaccination (Rabies Certificate) is required for new pets and when updated rabies shots are required.
A late penalty is imposed for renewal pet license processing after March 31st.
Fees - Dog License: $8 Altered; $10 Non-altered ($5 late fee)
Fees - Cat License: $5 Altered; $7 Non-altered ($3 late fee)

2019 Property TaxesThe full amount, or the first installment, of your property tax bill is due and payable to the Village of Saukville Treasurer by January 31, 2020 to avoid any penalties.
Second installment payments are due and payable to the Ozaukee County Treasurer by July 31, 2020.
Personal property tax and special assessments included on a tax bill are due to the Village Treasurer by January 31, 2020 and may not be paid in installments.
WHERE AND WHEN YOU CAN PAY YOUR TAXES:
- VILLAGE HALL - Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- U.S. MAIL - Payments postmarked on or before the due date will be considered paid as of the postmarked date. Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your payment if you would like a receipt.
- SAUKVILLE BANK BRANCHES - Port Washington State Bank & BMO Harris Bank
Must pay inside at bank, not at drive-through tellers. Bring your tax bill to process payment. Refunds can be processed immediately.

Calling all teachers! If you or someone you know would be interested in having their students participate, please contact Mandi Zopp, mzopp@riveredge.us for more information. Entries are due in March.
The CRP is excited to have been awarded a grant through the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin for conducting water conservation workshops. This includes painting and installing one rain barrel at each participating school. We will be working with three local elementary schools (St. John's in Newburg, Woodview Elementary in Grafton, and Saukville Elementary). These projects will start in early 2020 and will be completed by early summer. We are looking forward to working with the teachers and students!
The Community Rivers Program had a fun filled fall with our Watershed Bus Tour and Music in the Mushroom events. Through these programs, we were able to collabrate with Ozaukee County, NRCS, Clean Farm Families, and the Grafton and Saukville Historical Societies. A huge thank you goes out to all of these groups for their involvement in our CRP programs!

Fire Department
Part-time, paid, on-call positions are available for Fire-Fighters and EMTS. Applications are available at Village Hall and on the Village website. For more information, call the Fire Dept. at 262-284-5800 and leave a message.
