[ARCHIVED] Utility News

Because of the storm event on August 27, 2018 in the early morning hours, Saukville received approximately 6.9 inches of rain in a very short period of time.  A high amount of inflow was experienced due to the high surge and rainfall which prompted Utility personnel to conduct an overflow for 5 hours.  The overflow was contained to the wastewater plant grounds to limit harm to the public and environment.  The overflow was necessary to keep influent from the plant out of basements of homes.  The Department of Natural Resources has been notified pursuant to the requirements of NR210.  Residents are encouraged to make sure that sump pumps are not connected to the sanitary sewer system.  This will help assist in reducing influent flows during historic storms such as the one on August 27, 2018.
