The Ozaukee Central Fire Department (Est. January 1, 2025) provides Fire Protection and Emergency Medical services to the Villages of Grafton and Saukville, as well as the Towns of Grafton and Saukville. The OCFD is a consolidated and jointly funded Fire Department among the four communities. Funding is shared among the four communities using a formula based on use, population, and equalized value. The OCFD provides fire suppression and emergency medical services (paramedic level) and fire prevention programs to the citizens and visitors within our service area. Fire and EMS is provided with two fire stations, one located in the Village of Grafton and the other located in the Village of Saukville. Each station is comprised of both full-time and part-time responders. The Department also maintains mutual aid agreements with area fire departments and is a member of the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) that enables the sharing of resources for major incidents throughout several states.

Mission Statement:

As first responders to fires, public safety, medical emergencies, disasters, and other assorted requests for service, the OCFD protects the lives and property of Saukville residents and visitors. The OCFD advances public safety through its fire prevention, investigation, education, fire inspection, and key lock box programs. Local Events

The Saukville Fire Department is a proud sponsor of, and participant in, the following annual Village events: National Night Out, SFD Annual Custom Auto Show, Fire Prevention Week Open House, "Trick or Treat" Safety Patrol, and the annual holiday tree lighting in Veterans Park.

Thank you to the many other local sponsors and participants that help to make these events so successful every year!

Smoke & CO (Carbon Monoxide) Detectors

Contact the Fire Department with any questions or concerns regarding your smoke or CO detectors.  Remember to replace batteries twice a year - Daylight Savings Time is an excellent time to do this.  Even if your alarms are hard-wired, there is a battery back-up.  Smoke Detectors, even hard-wired detectors, should be replaced every 10 years.
